We start this week by looking at the features of an academic reading,some details about TOEFL Reading Section,and talking about how to approach a reading passage. From this week's study,I know Reading Section has 3 or 4 reading passages of about 700 words each and questions types include Factual information questions ,Negative Factual information questions,Inference questions,Rhetorical Purpose questions,Vocabulary questions and so on. From my perspective,I think taking notes or creating an outline is very helpful when we read a passage. After skimming the passage,we should keep a short notes to remember important information,so that we can identify the author's rhetoric purpose.

The Reading Section courses told me much information about TOEFL. I learnd how long I can use in this section and the number of passages.What's more ,I learnd all kinds of question which I may meet in this question and what I should do to answer their.And there are many example for me to have good commend of ways which help me solve this questions.

From this week's study,I have learned some basic information about the TOEFL reading test.I know the types of articles,types of the questions,such as factual information and negative factual information questions,inference questions and rhetorical purpose questions,vocabulary questions,reference questions,sentence simplification questions,insert text questions and so on.And ,I think skimming is a very useful skill.It is not necessary to understand all details of an article, we just need to get the main idea.

Toefl reading test choice of a large number of questions, including a variety of topic types, but now you can know that the topic type and the college entrance examination English multiple choice questions are the same. Through the coureses I have learnt this week, I know more details on reading section of TOEFL test. From scientific skills and methods of reading comprehension to the type of questions, I learnt the most useful way to overcome the difficulties that I haven't met before, including reference questions,inference questions and vocabulary questions. Listening to the teacher carefully, I understand that knowing what an article saying doesn't mean we should know every word in it . We can browse the article fast, during which find similar words mentioned in the question.

After week-2 study，I have learned that the reading part of TOEFL test is divided into 10 types of questions that include inference question，vocabulary question，prose summary question and so on. And some skills to do reading part are taught in the video. Scanning and skimming are very useful for me，because I can get some important information in this way and know the main idea of the reading passage.

From this week's TOEFL courses in regard to reading section, I've learned abundant strategies which help me to deal with some reading questions better. Among all the methods that the professors explained, what benefits me most is the tips of doing reading questions. We need to identify the top first and then skim the whole article, meanwhile, it's essential to take notes which are significant, finally read the questions and scan for key words. Additionally, reading academic texts more can also enlarge our vocabulary through accumulating and improve our reading speed. Only in these ways, can we improve accuracy.

During reading article, the biggest problem for me is the new word. After learning TOEFL Reading Section courses, some of my question have been solved.I know when i meet the word I can't understand, I just have to skip it. Then I need to read the first sentence of each paragraph. Because this is the central sentence of every paragraph. But there are some words that must be mastered. So while mastering these methods, I should also enhance the memory of vocabulary.

I've learned much in this week, such as inference, rhetorical purpose and so on, which help me deeply is sentence simplification part. After that I learn sorving the question just need to get the main idea of sentence. Of course, other part help a lot, they told me that I should skim the passage, take notes... In a word, during this week I get something good and I have more confidence to do exercises.

Courses in week2 firstly gives an overview of TOEFL reading section. The passages are academic ones which contains few abbreviation and no slang. From my experience, skipping the words you cannot recognize is a very useful way. Sometimes you can just replace it with a word that has the similar meaning, which you judge from the context.

From my point of view, this part of the course mainly talks about how to deal with the reading section in the TOFEL test. And it talks about the basic information and some skills about this section. This week's course has given me a great understanding of the TOEFL reading section. At the same time, I learned a lot about TOEFL skills, which gave me a lot of confidence. I've learned about the various types of reading texts and the reading questions. What impressed me strongly is the skill of scanning. In the past ,I used to read all the details that the text mentioned. However,I cannot understand each word’s meaning,and it actually takes lots of time. Scanning can help me to catch the main idea so I can spend less time to solve the questions.

During this week , I have learned various questiones in the reading section.Generally, they are similar to the questions before ,but they are more difficult . Compered with the foreign teacher, I have learned the strategies to do Factual/Negative Factual Information Questions ,Inference and Rhetorical Purpose Questions,Vocabulary Questions and Reference Questions.Of all the strategies ,I think searching the important word is the most useful strategies .
