Through the study of week 1, I learned a lot about the TOEFL test , its structure, test form, time requirement and so on. In addition, I know the main teaching content and teaching plan of this course. I think I can improve my English skills well through this course.

Taiking about the differences between TOEFL and IELTS,I think TOEFL really requires a high level of listening, but IELTS oral English should have a higher level of comprehensiveness and adaptability than TOEFL.Besides,IELTS is mainly suitable for students who want to study in Commonwealth countries, while TOEFL is suitable for students who want to study in North American countries.

After the first week's course, I have learnt that TOFEL, also called test of English as a foreign language, plays a important role if someone is willing to go abroad for further study. What's more, I have learnt what the exam is composed of.

The difference between TOFEL and IELTS are as follows:

    1. IELTS is mainly recognized by European countries such as Britain, while TOFEL is mainly focus on those who'd like to study in northern American countries.

    2. The content of IELTS is more life-oriented, containing many life scenes. But TOFEL is more acdemic.

    3. The full mark of IELTS is 9 while the full mark of TOFEL is 120.

After the study of week one,I have known more about TOEFL. The form of the TOEFL test is different from the IELTS test. And they organized by different examination institutions. I have known  there are four sections of the TOEFL test ,listening, speaking, reading and writing. What's more, each of which focuses on one language skill.

Whether it is IELTS or TOEFL, it is a platform for us to study abroad. What we should do is to pay more attention to improving our English ability.

More deeply, througout this learning,I think I get to know the core ability the test want us to master. I think I will pay more attention to the English language logic, and critical thinking ability.

Based on my research, the IELTS test's scores is different from TOEFL and the time to test is different.

and the two test's degree of recognization is different,in England and some European country,IELTS may be more acceptable, but in American country,TOEFL is authority.

From the learning of week 1, I know the general rules of TOEFL and details bring a great many benefits to me. In the daily life, we often talk about IELTS, when mention TOEFL. Therefore, I want to share some differences with you.

Firstiy, in the matter of institution of  setting a question, the institutions which take charge of IELTS are the British Council、CUCLES and IDP Education Australia while Educational Testing Service is in charge of the topic of TOEFL.  When turning to the max score, the total score of TOEFL is 120.Yet the max score of IELTS is 9.  Moreover, the expense of taking TOEFL test is less expensive than taking IELTS test. However, the TOEFL takes more time which takes about 4 hours. Many guys talk about that there are also great differences in the content of the examination. Yes, I admit it, but for me, they both are hard! HAHAHAHA.....

the course in week 1 makes clear the components of TOEFL and theirs duration. Considering that there a six-month course for TOEFL guidance, I can see the obvious importance of it. However, the thing really matters is the English skill. Though the test can reflect one’s level, we should pay more attention to the improvement of English skill than just to the test score.

Speaking of the difference between TOEFL and IELTS, it’s said that TOEFL is more academic, while IELTS emphasizes more on the utility.Also, as they are organized by different groups, some countries may not accept the other test core. So it’s sensible to choose the right test according to the campus’ location one admires.

In the Week 1 study, I learned the importance of English ability, not just the coures when considering study in a foreign country. Becides, the component of TOEFL has been shown, and we can better handle the test.

There are several differences in test method between TOEFL and IELTS. In  listening section, IELTS is more acadomic, while TOEFL is respectively close to life. And when we are testing our speaking ability, we need to talk with the computer in IELTS and with a real person in TOEFL. More than that, I noticed that we do the test on computer in IELTS, and we write our answers in paper in TOEFL.

Based on my research , I find some differences between TOEFL and IELTS . First ,the ranges of application of the two tests are defferent . TOEFL is more academic , while IELTS is more for immigrants . Besides , TOEFL's test time is longer than IELTS, and the recognition degree is higher than IELTS . What's more ,some question types of the two tests are diverse ,and the IELTS' s standard for evaluation is more detailed .

laughIn my opinion ,week1  is a marvelous course which tells us chinese students how to prepare for the toefl test and introduce many excellent english teachers.

To my way of thinking, the essential differences between ielts and toefl are not much.they all include listening, speaking, writing, reading sections.

The toefl test full mark is 120,but ielts is 9. Iris has mentioned that toefl is more academic in the comments above.

Having finished the week1,I benefit a great ideal.I have a look inside the TOEFL Test which inclues Reading,Listening,Speaking,Writing. At first,I meet our instructors and some basical information about this course. And how the TOEFL Test is made left  a deep impression on me.The process is really strict  to ensure fair and just.Maybe it is the reason why The TOEFL Test  is the most widely respected English-language test in the world.

The differences between TOEFL and IELTS are  follows:

IELTS is suitable for overseas study and immigration in the UK and Australia. It is acknowledged by all the university of England and Australia.TOEFL is more respected by North America .

IELTS pays more attention to life practice, namely more communication.TOEFL is focus on academic aspects. So TOEFL 's vocabulary requirement is larger than IELTS.

Now I have had online study for 1 week. From my perspective,I think online study can be a good and convenient for us to study.Sine we can get everything we want from our home. For example,we study when it is freezing outside and we can get more study resoureses. However,I think I have more homework.

The differences between TOELF and IELTS are below.

First, speaking.we face a woman a men when take speaking part.,and the content is not that serious and academic like TOELF.During IELTS test,we have 3 parts, but the contents are related to our daily life.Unlike IELTS,we face a computer when doing this part, and we will have to listen something academic.

Secondly,as soon as starting an exam,we will not have chance to drink water or take snack during IELTS but TOELF can.

Thirdly, listening.Lectures will not be shown in IELTS.

Last, writting.when taking IELTS,we do not have to listen a lecture.Instead,we get a topic, which is related to our society and is very very critic.we need to list our positive or pessistic perpectives during this part.

According to my research and what I've learned in Week1, I know the following 3 differences between TOFEL and ILETS.

1.The basements. TOFEL is based on internet (iBT),while the ILETS is a paper based test.

2.The accepted countries. TOFEL is applicable to the majority of North Africa countries, such as Mexico, Canada and so on, and the counties admitting ILETS are almost belong to the British Commonwealth of Nations. Though the range of application to the two tests is different, there are also lots of countries accepting both of them at the same time.

3.The atmosphere. In the TOFEL, it's more likely to test one's knowledge in astronomy, geography, or society sciences, by comparion, the topics in ILETS are founctional and daily. So I have a conclusion that TOFEL is acdemic and ILETS is down to earth.

There are a lot of difference between IELTS and TOEFL. At first, the TOEFL is sponsored by ETS and the IELTS is sponsored by the British council. Secondly, the full score of TOEFL is 120, while that of IELTS is 9. In addition, their registration prices are also different. The IELTS is a little bit more expensive.

I have learnt that TOEFL is consist of reading, listening, speaking and writing and every part has different demands about the time and score.Besides, different college has different score level and some institutions also see TOEFL as a standard to join them.TOEFL and IELTS both require the applicants to have high proficiency in English, but they also have many differences.TOEFL is set by American institution ETS so it is based on American English, but IELTS is based on British English.TOEFL regard the language skills as a vital factor but IELTS attach importance to investigate the language practicability. In a word,TOEFL is more academic,IELTS is more realistic.
