My favourite festival is the Spring Festival. The Spring Festival is one of the most important festivals for Chinese people. As the saying goes,“Rich or not,go home for the Chinese New Year”.So in this festival, people often follow the tradition of returning home and reuniting with family members.

And it reminds me of my childhood memories. It was the New Year’s Eve many years ago. Our family got up early that day and went to my grandpa’s home to prepare for the coming New Year’s Eve dinner together. And his house is in the country with a small yard.In the early morning,I unwillingly followed my mother to clean this small house without dust.Driven by curiosity,I stopped cleaning and asked to my mother,“Why should we clean such tidy house?”My mother replied to me with soft tone, rubbing my head, “Cleaning the house doesn’t depend on whether the house is tidy or not.It is a Spring Festival custom.”Listening my mother’s words,I nodded my head but I didn’t really understand at that time.Finishing cleaning my grandpa’s house,my mother started to make a large number of steamed buns.Every time ,these steamed buns are often served as a staple food for almost one month. Therefore I was about to vomit at the sight of them from eating too many them for a long time. I couldn’t help complaining in a low voice,“Why do you make so many steamed buns?”My mother was busy in doing her work, lowering her head all the time.So she only told me that this is also a traditional custom calmly.

On the day of Spring Festival, the first day I did after waking up was to pay a new year call to elders. My parents and grandpa reached out and gave me a big red envelope.I walked over bouncing and jumping. Then,I happily took my beloved big red envelope. As a child, all I knew was that the money in the red envelope could be used to buy things I like. But I still wondered the reasons why elders give red envelopes. From then on,I buried these doubts in my mind.

When I grow up,I learned these customs through the internet. From the internet,I know cleaning the house before the Spring Festival means that greet the departure of the old year and welcome the arrival of the new year.We don’t really sweep the dust, but sweep the bad luck.Importantly, many relatives always visit each other during the Spring Festival. So,it is necessary to carry out a thorough cleaning to welcome guests.Besides,no one sells staple food such as steamed buns during this festival because they also went home to reunite.Sending red envelopes means sending blessings and good luck.

Now,I realize that traditional custom have their own significance when preserved. I should find more hidden cultures from different traditional customs. Then learn them and spread them.

I remember once when I was a child and my parents went to grandparents' home for the New Year, in the joyful atmosphere of lights and decorations, the adults began to prepare dinner, my brother and sister and I played fireworks outside the door, dinner was ready, my mother shouted out the door: "Children, come to dinner!" We laughed and walked to the table, and I sat down casually in front of my favorite food. "You can't sit there," Mom said angrily. "It's for Grandpa." I was aggrieved to cry, grandpa said: "Nothing, the child happy on the line." While refusing, my mother pulled me to her seat and whispered to me, "You should pay attention to the way you sit at the table. It's a sign of respect for your elders." I looked at my mother and nodded.

Later, when I went to school, I learned more about table culture.Since ancient times, Chinese people have paied attention to the orderliness of elders and children, and the status of banquet participants will be fully reflected in ancient banquets. The position of the table, the way of sitting, and the layer of the table are all limited by strict etiquette, and the violators are improprieties. Therefore, people sit according to their social status, identity and clan relationship, so as to keep the process of the banquet in order. After a long time of precipitation, this custom has gradually solidified into a ritual tradition, which is still affecting us today. Chinese traditional table manners basically follow some basic principles.

Seating etiquette refers to a series of etiquette norms to be followed in the seating arrangement of various banquets.Different scenes have different seating requirements for different people. It mainly includes: on the right (following international practice), on the center (the center is higher than the two sides), on the front row (applicable to all occasions), on the far side (far from the door), on the front door (good vision).

From that experience, I learned to respect elders at the table. Children may not have a thorough understanding of these cultures, which requires parents' guidance. I will always bear in mind my mother's guidance, and I will also learn to understand different table cultures in my later life.

When I was young, I once had a New Year's Eve dinner with my parents. The table was filled with a large table of dishes, including many of my favourite dishes. After serving them, I couldn't wait to bring my favourite dishes to myself, so that I could enjoy them slowly.

Just as I was eating with relish,my mum suddenly lightly tapped my hang with her chopsticks. She said seriously to me,'Your behaviour is impolite. You can't bring anything to youself just because you like it, so that others won't be able to eat it.'

I looked at her with some confusion andsaid,'But every time l eat like this,no adult said these things.

My mum sighed and said,'That's because you are still young and adults are accommodating you, but you can't take this behaviour for granted.Of course, this is also a cultural etiquette on the dinning table.lf you still do this when you grow up, others will say behind your back that you haven't education, remember not to just focus on yourself when eating with others, you must consider everyone's feelings.

After listening to my mum's words, l thought to myself: my previous behaviour was very impolite, and l must change my behaviour habits next time, do not let my mum worry.

l nodded at my mum and said,' Mom, l know.'

l will definitely actively change myself next time.

My mum listened to my words, smiled with relief, and patted lightly my back. She praises me as a sensible child who knows myself mistakes and can change them.

As we all know,China has many excellent traditional cultures.Among them, there is one for me to learn. That is, if there are elders present at the dinner party, the younger generation can't start picking up food first. If a younger generation doesn't wait for their elders to start eating first, it will make people feel that this is a kind of disrespect. This table manners came into contact with me when I was five years old.I still remember this etiquette to this day.

At that time, it was the busy farming season. My family had a lot of farming, but there were not many relatives at home to help, so when the neighbors in the village knew that my family needed help, they came to help my family. After a few days of busy play my parents ordered to thank friends for their help in farming ,so my parents advised them to have a meal at home.

On that day,Dad is busy entertaining guests. Before the meal started, my mother said“You can't eat first when the meal starts! ”I wanted know the reason for that. However,my mother went on her work in the kitchen.I kept wondering but my mother didn't tell me.So i didn't think it was important to follow my mum's words. When the lunch started,i saw many my favorite food and began to eat them with my chopsticks. However,at the moment, other people at the table haven't started to pick up food.My mother's forehead began to wrinkle. At first,i didn't realize her angry mood until she koncked my mouth with chopsticks. This action made me very embrassed and i began to cry when mum said“Why you still eat first and don't follow my word”.One of people who were advised said“It doesn't matter, she is still a child. She didn't realize that this etiquette is very normal”However my mother didn't stop educating me.

After the meal,my mum talked with me patiently.“My sweetheart,it is important for you to know that we cant start to eat until the the guests began. And this custom can express that we respect the guests. If you don't obey this rule, you will Receive ridicule from others”.I noded and l remembered this word in my mind deeply.

My reflection was that sometimes when the elders tell us some customs but don't explain the reasons, we have to follow them because sometimes their words have some truth.Though i cried on that day because of that thing ,i still thought this custom was good for me to learn and it could help me learn table manners. And this traditional custom can make a man become more polite

Not long ago it was the Winter Solstice, one of the 24 solar terms. For a northerner, eating dumplings is the most important custom during the Winter solstice. Otherwise, your ears will be frozen off. When I was very young, in the Winter Solstice of one year, my mother made a lot of dumplings, at that time I did not know this custom, so I asked my mother,“Why do you make so many dumplings?” To tell the truth, I really do not like eating dumplings, no matter what stuffing. My mother smiled and said,“Eating dumplings on the Winter Solstice is a Chinese traditional custom, otherwise the ears will freeze.”At that time ,I was very foolish to believe, I ate one dumpling after another, in order to save my ears, although it is painful. But I was happy that I still had two ears. Because my mother made too many dumplings, usually two or three days after the Winter Solstice, our family eats dumplings, which is too painful for me.
But this Winter Solstice is very different, I didn ont eat dumplings, because in the south, people usually eat tangyuan.Last Friday after our one-day class, my roommates and I went to the restaurant to eat small tangyuan, which is much better than dumplings.
The Winter Solstice is the day when the night is the longest and the day is the shortest in the northern hemisphere. I like the Winter Solstice, because after this day, the days in the northern hemisphere will be longer and longer, which means that we are not far away in the warm season. After all, winter is really too cold. During the Winter Solstice, people in the south eat tangyuan, which means completeness and reunion in Chinese culture, while people in the north eat dumplings, because dumplings have the meaning of dispelling cold. In addition, I also learned that in Ningbo, they usually eat sweet potato soup on the Winter Solstice. In Chinese pronunciation, sweet potato is “fanshu”which is similar to the pronunciation of the word “turn over”, so it also means that eating sweet potatoes can turn some bad luck over. Chinese people are longing for good fortune, which can be seen from these customs.
It is interesting for me to experience so many different customs in Winter Solstice.Just as the saying goes“When in Rome,do as the Romans do.”

Trees around the village, water with ponds, wheat rippling, duckling all over the countryside, that is the north, my hometown. In summer, there is a whole world of fire, every inch of skin oozing heat. In winter, there is a whole world of frost, and cold from the bones. Born and raised in the North, I naturally think that the whole world looks like the North. Until young growth, opened the door to go, did not know this sea river banquet green, all things diverse.

The south is mild, and the air is full of elegance and beauty. This year is surprising under octant as bold as the north snow, snow-covered overnight, thousands of trees pear blossom. Open the window in the morning, and there is a white sky between heaven and earth. Fishing the cold river and snow alone, the only person in the world I am a lofty artistic conception, my heart can roughly feel a few points. Also at this time, thousands of miles away from the miss from the mobile phone floating out.

"Girl, is it snowing there? You have to remember to eat dumplings today."

"Yes, Grandma, the snow is heavy this year, I have never seen so much snow in the south, it is very beautiful."

"Really? We don't see much snow on the south side, so it's probably pretty beautiful. But don't look at the snow, remember to eat dumplings today. Do you know that Winter solstice dumplings do not freeze your ears?"

"Okay, okay, I got it. I'm on it. I'm on it."

Winter solstice dumplings do not freeze ears, since I can remember often hearing adults say so. So why did it come about? It is said that it comes from the medical sage Zhang Zhongjing. It is said that "Medical sage" Zhang Zhongjing left the palace and returned to his hometown. It was winter at that time. He found that many people's ears were frozen to pieces. He asked his disciples to build a medical shed and erect a big pot. Then he fished out the mutton and medicine, chopped them up, cooked the ear-like "Jiao" of bread, and gave two "Jiao" and a big bowl of broth to eat the person who came to ask for medicine. When people ate " Jiao er" and drank "cold dispelling soup ", they were warm all over, their ears were hot, and their frostbitten ears were cured. When they ate dumplings during the winter solstice, they did not forget the grace of  "Medical sage" Zhang Zhongjing's dispelling cold jiao soup. So they said, “Winter solstice dumplings do not freeze ears.”

The northern winter solstice eats jiaozi, the southern winter solstice eats tanyuan. Different cultures, and customs are different, but they are all people's good wishes for life. I used to think that the North was the world and the world was the North. But in retrospect, that was wrong. It is precisely because of its diversity that culture is full of charm, and it is these colorful cultures that have assembled the splendor of our 5000 years and made us full of cultural confidence. Accepting differences, understanding individuality, and exploring the beauty of different cultures can be fun.

I will never forget the “threshold” experience as a child.

I was a very naughty kid a few years ago. At that time, our house had not been demolished, and I was still living in an old house in the countryside. My parents are both working in other places, and I am a child raised by a grandmother. When I was a child, I liked to visit various neighbors' houses, like the aroma of wine in the deep alleys, like to walk on the narrow road at dinner time and smell the door-to-door dinner, and like the rock sugar gourd that the pedlar shouted on the street...

Grandma was always doting me, who would have thought that one day she would make her blush.

I remember the day when I found the high threshold in front of my house to be challenging, so I stepped on the threshold and played a game. I also went to play with my grandmother excitedly. As a result, when I told my grandmother that this surprise was a small game of stepping on the threshold, my grandmother suddenly said to me angrily: “Honey, you can't do this, it's not right to do this.”

I've never seen such an angry grandma, but I still bumped into her,“What's wrong with playing a game, are you so stingy as an adult?”

Grandma was even angrier and she hit me for the first time.

Later, cautiously and curiously, I asked my grandmother, “Why can't I step on the threshold?”

My grandmother kindly said to me, “Honey, that's because it prevents the wooden threshold from being broken on the one hand, and on the other hand, it also conforms to the rules and traditions, and shows respect for the ancestors.”

I nodded my head in understanding.

Now I think back to my ignorance when I was a child, so I carefully searched for information about the threshold, and I found that the original threshold was set to separate the house from the outside world, which could not only block the wind and dust, but also keep all kinds of reptiles out, so it was of great practical value. Secondly, there is a threshold at the door, which symbolizes the erection of a wall to keep all bad things out of the door, especially those ghosts, so as to ensure the safety and happiness of the family.

I reflected deeply on my actions. In the Analects, it is said that not standing in the center of the door is a sign of humility. When you enter the door, don't step on the threshold, the threshold is a cut higher than the flat ground, and if you step on it, it will be higher than ordinary people, which may be rude.

Therefore, in traditional Chinese culture, not stepping on the threshold is the style of a gentleman, which can not only show humility, but also not be rude. This is the respect for the excellent traditional Chinese culture, and it is also the humility of future generations to their ancestors.

I like the Spring Festival, because only during that time, our family can often stay together. And I like some customs of the Spring Festival very much, because these are not common in the daily life.

When I was in the fourth grade of primary school, I was first allowed to go to the temple with my family in the early morning of New Year's Eve.But at that time, I just felt very sleepy, so I asked my grandmother why we had to go to the temple so early, and i told her,"I am so sleepy."And then she told me gently,"Because there are fewer people going early, so that the gods can first know our wishes to help us first."But when we arrived at the temple in the early morning, it was already a sea of people. So I was squeezed, while difficult forward, even my favorite headband was squeezed missing. We started praying till early morning to the morning, until 7 o’clock we sat in the noodle restaurant to eat noodles. At that moment, I thought that the bowl of noodles was one of the best noodles in the world.

With the change of my times, I feel that the flavor of the New Year is becoming weaker and weaker, even our family will not go to the temple in the early morning to pray, which makes me regretful.

When I was a child, I only thought it interesting to go to the temple to pray, but now I feel more of the joy of doing something together with my family. And now after so many years of study, I have a deeper understanding of traditional Chinese culture. I have understood the origin of the Spring Festival and the people's yearning for happiness. The customs that can be preserved in the Chinese traditional festivals are meaningful, and we should better inherit them, otherwise the future children will not have a deep understanding of the traditional festivals.

During the Chinese New Year, many homes set off firecrackers on specific days, but most of them are concentrated late at night and early in the morning. When I was a child, I often complained that behavior which made me can't sleep because I didn't understand these customs and specific days, and I didn't understand that adults waited for that time to set off firecrackers on time at late night.

Until one time, I couldn't sleep well because of the noisy sound of firecrackers, and simply, I ran to the balcony and saw many houses setting off firecrackers underneath, even if it was so cold outside but also would not miss the hour. I felt so misunderstood and wondered that if they felt tired. Out of curiosity, I ran down and found my father who was waiting for the firecrackers to finish. When he saw me, he smiled and asked,“ Why you haven't slept?”I started complain the sound of firecrackers as in previous years. He just listened to me and continued to ask,“Do you want to welcome the God of Wealth with us?” It wasn't until this moment that I realized that everyone was standing in the cold wind and setting off firecrackers to welcome the God of Wealth. And my father knew that I was so expected to receive the red packet from elder and used money to buy something I like. After understanding the meaning of this action, I no longer found this a puzzling thing. For me,I can pray for more and more money my family owned and I can get something what I really like. For others, every family has hoped that their own family can be richer and make their family's life better, and the act of welcoming the God of Wealth is also a pious wish for everyone in the new year. At the same time, the constant sound of firecrackers also adds a stronger festive atmosphere to the Spring Festival after the first day of it.

Traditionally, the louder the firecrackers, the better luck you have, and because the fifth day of the Lunar New Year is the birthday of the God of Wealth, most families will choose to welcome the God of Wealth on the fifth day of the Lunar New Year. The continuous sound of the firecrackers is also the best wishes to the God of Wealth from every family.

After that, I no longer feel the sound of firecrackers is a nuisance, and I will listen to it when the firecrackers are set off in the fifth day of the Lunar New Year, looking forward to the new year and the arrival of the God of Wealth. And hope my family members can be more relaxed so that they can get more spare time and money easily.

                                                                                    The sugar painting

Whenever I go to the market with my parents during the New Year,I often stopped in front of the sugar painting for a long time and carefully selected it, pestering my mother to buy one for me.Even though my mother always talked about eating less sugar, she eventually bought me a sugar picture and bought one for herself. At this time,I always laughed at my mother.”You're so childish. Sugar paintings are supposed to be for kids like me.”Mom just smiled and shrugged and began to eat the sugar painting. It wasn't until I grew up that I realized it wasn't such a childish act. When I was a child, I ate sugar painting for the sweet taste, but when I grew up, I ate sugar painting for the purpose of finding a child.

Last Spring Festival, my mother and I met sugar paintings on the street again. At this time, I did not only pay attention to the pattern of sugar painting, but also paid attention to the process of making sugar painting.Making sugar paintings requires not only accurate materials, but also strict control of the temperature of the syrup. When the syrup is cooled to the right temperature, the sugar painting can be made. The translucent syrup should be made into various shapes of flowers, birds, insects, fish or people, buildings and so on.This stage requires a great deal of patience and skill, as the syrup quickly cools and becomes difficult to handle as the temperature changes.Looking at a beautiful sugar painting finished, I was greedy again.”I want to eat the sugar painting,Mom.”Like when I was young, my mother would teach me to eat less sugar.”You've grown up. Eat less childish food.”But at last ,she still bought me one, also bought one for herself.

Sugar painting isn't just a childhood memory, but also a kind of traditional Chinese folk art.As a national intangible cultural heritage, sugar painting shows the wisdom of ancient folk craftsmen and is an important part of Chinese folk culture.Sugar painting and other folk art forms are born on the basis of folk customs, and its *, diversity and uniqueness determine that the protection methods should be diversified. Folk culture should be inherited and developed, adapt to the changes of The Times and advance with The Times, in order to open up a splendid avenue for the inheritance and development of folk culture.

When I was in primary school, I went to a party with my relatives and sat down with another child at the table. The party was a wedding party. The two of us competed to see who ate more, and naturally made a sound of “chirp, chirp” joyfully. At that time, my grandmother stopped me sharply. “You can't eat with this sound, it's the rule at the table!” I argued, “It is impossible for a man to eat without making a sound.” As soon as I finished speaking, my grandmother picked up chopsticks and hit me in the mouth. I burst into tears. At this point, I realized that I really can't eat with sound.

Since then, I was interested in knowing “lip-smacking” . The so-called “lip-smacking” refers to the sound of consciously touching the lower lip with the upper lip and stirring the tongue in the mouth. This sound is easily reminded me of the sound of pigs eating, so it has become a taboo for Chinese. China's old-fashioned people have a big rule that requires people not to make a noise when eating, that is, not to gossip, not to joke, and not to speak loudly. When talking about leisure among the elderly, they always say after eating. Because it's not allowed to talk during meals. Don't gobble up food, talk or make loud noises. This is due to health concerns. Concentration is required when eating, so that you can chew slowly and avoid stomach problems. In addition, it is also for the sake of eating safety. Like eating beans, eating fish, gnawing bones etc., if you don't concentrate on eating, it is easy to get stuck in your throat, especially children. Therefore, it makes sense for the ancients to set this rule in the first place. Chinese pay attention to decency, in the eyes of Chinese, lip-smacking is a kind of poor. Of course, the Chinese taboo lip-smacking also because the sound of the lip-smacking really makes people feel uncomfortable.

Therefore, parents have set a rule for their children: they can't eat with smacking the lips. But there are still classmates or friends around who have this habit, don't their parents care?

During festivals like Chinese New Year, Dragon Boat Festival, and Mid-Autumn Festival, my family would receive gifts from our relatives when they came into my home with bags of all shapes and sizes. At that time, I was very happy because they usually brought snacks and milk, which are my favorites.

As usual for the Spring Festival, relatives and friends came to my home with gifts. When I excitedly took the snacks and milk they brought, I wanted to open them and taste them right away. While telling my mother that I wanted to eat this cookie, I also went to look for scissors to quickly open the snack box. My mom slapped my arm and scolded me, saying that it was improper etiquette for me to do. I didn't understand her reasoning and burst into loud tears.

Mom patiently held me and whispered in my ear, “Open the box after the relatives leave.” At a young age, I didn't know what this meant, but I followed along. After expressing gratitude, the relatives left. My mom then took hold of my hands and told me, “Chinese people have their own culture when it comes to giving gifts to friends or relatives. It is important to know that giving someone gifts should not be a one-way business. Courtesy requires reciprocity. According to China's etiquette culture, opening a present in front of its sender is considered rude.”“Okay, mom, now I understand. Let's also bring some gifts when we visit them next time.”

Chinese gift-giving culture is extensive and profound. The Chinese people value reciprocity and two-way interaction. Gift-giving is a way to express care and love, as well as a form of social etiquette. Giving gifts is also a way to express gratitude and maintain social relationships. In Western cultures, it's common for people to open and appreciate gifts immediately as a sign of respect and gratitude towards the gift-giver. In contrast, in Chinese cultures, it's more customary to wait for an appropriate time or open the gift in private.

12 years ago, when I was still a primary school student, my parents took me to a very  important dinner party. The occasion was very grand and solemn.

I was curious about everything here. “Dad, there are so many people!”I held my father’s hand and looked around. I let go of my dad's hand and ran around the venue. “DongDong, come back quickly and don't touch things everywhere.”My mom sternly rebuked me. So I had to obediently return to their side.

After a while, more and more guests arrived. The host of the banquet began to invite everyone to take their seats. At this moment, I ran excitedly towards the chair in the middle of the first table and shouted “This is my seat!” My mother gave me a fierce glare and was in a hurry to take me away from that chair.I struggled desperately and shouted loudly. At that moment, an old man with gray hair came to save me.I looked at him with great gratitude. He smiled kindly at me and then looked at my mother, “He's just a child, he doesn't understand anything. Don't hold a grudge against him.” My mother nodded awkwardly and quickly took me to another seat.

After the banquet started, the old man just sat in the seat I wanted to sit in.Many people came to toast and bless him.I looked at my dad with confusion, and he explained that the old man had the highest seniority, so he sat in the main seat.

As I grew up, I learned that this is also a manifestation of traditional Chinese etiquette, and I still remember it deeply to this day.

It is a tradition to reunite for a big meal at Grandpa's house on New Year's Eve.
While Grandma was busy in the kitchen, the younger members of the family were all sitting in the living room chattering. We eat snacks my Grandpa prepared for us before dinner. However, I still heard that my stomach was growling.
I slid into the kitchen to look for something to eat. Grandma was stifrying some veggies and meat. I got close to her and put my head on her shoulder, ”When will we have dinner?”Dinner will be ready in a minute.”
Now it’s time for dinner! We help bring the dishes from the kitchen to the table. “I'll help fill the bowls with rice!” When Grandma saw that I only used one spoonful of rice in the bowl, she stopped me immediately. With the corner of her mouth slightly slid upward, “It is not allowed to only one spoonful of rice in the bowl.” She patted me on my shoulder gently. “Why?” With a puzzled expression on my face, I scratched my head. “Sweetie, you know that as a Chinese, we should pay attention to sacrifices, right? Generally, when offering sacrifices to deceased ancestors and gods, they give them a small spoonful of rice, which means that the ancestors and gods are invited to eat in a symbolic sense.” She looked into my eyes. I nodded to express my agreement with the fine Chinese traditional culture.
Then, I filled all the bowls with at least two spoonfuls of rice. Grandma with me take all the bowls to the table. Along with the sound of firecrackers outside the window, we enjoy delicious food in the warm house. Cheerful laughter was lingering around the house.
I ate the two spoonfuls of rice in my bowl, reflecting that many numbers have special meanings in China. For example,the number “4” represents death,the number “6” means good job, and the number “8” represents fortune.At that time, I realized that these special meanings fill our lives. Though I can access it easily, I haven’t paid attention to it before. Now I know, that we are exposed to those different meanings in our daily lives, we must explore more and more deeply.

Whenever the Laba Festival is coming, my grandma always cooks Laba porridge for our family. I like the Taro the most, but I still do not understand why it falls on the Laba Festival people all have La Ba porridge. Until that time, I have been answered.                                                                                         It was on the day of the Laba Festival, at that time, I was a little girl, I saw my grandma cooking Laba porridge in the kitchen, and I ran to ask her, "Grandma, why we have to have Laba porridge in the Laba Festival?". Grandma kindly looked at me and said with a smile"Actually, there are many legends about the Laba porridge. The first one said that there was a custom of playing ghosts with red beans before, and the eighth day of the twelfth lunar month was used to boil porridge with red beans to deal with the ghosts. This could help drive away the epidemic and welcome auspicious. And the second one said that there was a man in the Western Jin Dynasty, who was lazy and greddy, but later he repented his sins and boiled porridge every Laba to keep thrifty and save money in the coming year. Besides, some people said that the porridge is a bless for others, and Buddha porridge represented health and good luck."After that, Grandma patted me on the back and said"It is dangerous for you to stay in the kitchen. You go on playing outside.". And she would continue to boil porridge. From then on, I have a concept of Laba Festival, but I do not regard it as a special festival. When I was a resident student of senior three, I missed the Laba porridge cooked by Grandma.Because some classmates lived near the school, they could go home after evening self-studying and ate Laba porridge. This reminded me of my grandma telling me about the origin of Laba porridge when I was a little kid.                                                                                                                         Now I know a lot about the Laba Festival. It falls on the eighth day of the twelfth lunar month every year, is also known as the "Magic Talisman Festival", "Daoism meeting", "Buddha Daoism Festival" and so on. Originally, a Buddhist festival to commemorate the enlightenment of Buddha Sakyamuni, it has gradually bocome a folk festival. Moreover, in the Laba Festival, some places in our country have the custom of having Laba porridge, and in different areas have different materials in the porridge. But basically basically include rice, millet, glutinous rice and other cereals, beans, red beans, mung beans and other beans, red dates, peanuts, lotus seeds and other dried fruits.                          Nowadays, I have learned that the meaning of the Laba porridge is abundant, it represents warmth, satisfaction, harmony, auspiciousness, health, etc., with the beautiful vision of the ancients, which is an indispensable part of traditional Chinese culture. And the custom of each region should be preserved and passed on.

                                                                      Throwing girder steamed bread

When I was a child, one of my favorite activities was "throwing girder steamed bread", which is usually held by people when their houses are about to be completed. At that time, there will be two or three adults standing on the roof throwing fruit, candy, steamed bread, etc. while there will be many children waiting under the roof, ready to grab fruit and other food. Although this activity is welcomed by people, I have never understood the significance of this activity until that time, I thoroughly understand this activity.

That was a sunny noon, and my friend and I went to a family to grab sugar and fruit. We were laughing and running. "Hurry up, hurry up, we won't be able to get the sugar any later," I shouted urgently, waving to my companion. "What are you in a hurry, you haven't set off firecrackers yet, there must be time,” My little partner said slowly. Then we climbed the hill and looked breathlessly at the newly built house. I said to myself, this time I must rob more. My friend and I stood on the path, looking straight at the roof, as if to see through it. Before I knew it, many people were standing around the house, but they were all children as old as me.

Suddenly a burst of firecrackers sounded, two men carrying two rattan woven baskets stood on the roof, and the children below were ready to go, scrambling to push forward, and then the two people held a large handful of sugar and fruit began to sprinkle down. We would go around looking for fruit and sugar, and it would be very chaotic, whatever it was, just focusing on whether we had enough sugar and fruit or not. Some had even run off their shoes and were still scrambling for fruit and sugar. After a fierce struggle, I grabbed a lot of sugar and fruit and then went to show off to my friends. When I saw that he didn't have as much stuff as I did, I immediately burst out laughing. "Yours didn't have as much as mine, I was so good."  I laughed, and he just rolled his eyes at me.

We trotted all the way and saw my grandmother next to the tree at the entrance of the village. She looked at me with a look of spring pride and shouted, "You have gone to join the activity of throwing girder steamed bread again." I asked him, stopping and looking puzzled. Is this all about throwing candy and fruit? Shouldn't it be throwing girder steamed bread?

My little friend laughed loudly. He added, "You don't know that, let me tell you!" I looked at him expectantly. "When a house is nearing completion, there are usually six procedures to celebrate the completion of the owner's house. However, throwing girder steamed bread was the most lively and joyful process after the house was built. A saying of this event is to celebrate the repair of their own house and greet everyone. Holding this event to express their happiness. Another saying is that a new house needs popularity, so sprinkle money and candy to attract people from all around the neighborhood to gather popularity and bring happiness and fortune to the new house. The options for this activity vary. For example, in my area, people throw fruit and candy, but in other areas, they just throw red envelopes or snacks and so on."I nodded and said, "It's not throwing wood!" And then I went home scratching my head and eating candy. It was my grandmother and all the other old people around the village who burst out laughing.

Now in retrospect, that is the first time I deeply understand the significance of the activity of throwing steamed buns. However, with the continuous development of the times, this activity gradually faded out of people's lives, and even many people now do not know the existence of this activity. It is not only an activity but also a symbol of good neighborliness. We should actively carry out such activities, inherit traditional culture, and learn from this spirit.

When I was a child, I often listened to my father tell stories about his childhood in the countryside, and the most fascinating one for me was his description of Beijing Opera. Whenever my father mentions Peking Opera, his eyes always sparkle with endless light.

When I was ten years old, my father decided to take me to the Beijing Opera Theater to experience real Beijing Opera. That was my first time stepping onto the stage of Peking Opera, and it was an indescribable shock. The sound of drums, gongs, and flutes intertwined into a hymn of the earth, as if taking me into a distant world.

I was amazed by the performances of the actors, every action and every gaze was full of stories. Their singing is high pitched and passionate, yet gentle and low pitched, like hymns of life. "They sing so well !"I shouted,"Yes, they sing so well ! "Father agreed, stroking my head gently.

I felt the charm of Peking Opera, and since then, I had developed a strong interest in it. I imitated the actions of actors at home and learnd to sing their singing styles. Every time I watched a play, I carefully scrutinized their performance, trying to understand the emotions and stories they expressed.

By studying Peking Opera, I have gained a deeper understanding of traditional Chinese culture.

Firstly, as one of the representatives of traditional Chinese culture, Peking Opera inherits important values and ideological concepts as an integral part of Chinese culture. As is well known, Beijing Opera is renowned for its profound character images, rich historical heritage, and unique performance style. Many themes and plots involve ancient Chinese culture, history, and thought. For example, many of the protagonists portrayed in classic plays, such as nobles, generals, and literati, embody the Confucian moral and loyalty to monarchs and subjects. These ideas and values are of crucial significance for the inheritance and promotion of Chinese culture.

Secondly, Beijing Opera has unique artistic features in music, dance, script, and other aspects, which has earned it widespread recognition and praise worldwide. The music of Peking Opera is characterized by its unique mode and melody, and has extremely high artistic value. The dance and movements in Peking Opera blend traditional Chinese martial arts and dance techniques, making it highly entertaining and performative.

In addition, the scripts and lyrics in Peking Opera are also a treasure in traditional Chinese culture, and the thoughts and emotions they express also have profound connotations.

Finally, Peking Opera also plays an important role on the international stage. China's reform and opening up have brought global attention and recognition to the culture and art of Peking Opera. The performing arts of Peking Opera have been widely spread internationally and have become an important part of global cultural exchange. This cultural exchange not only helps to inherit and promote Chinese culture, but also helps people from all over the world to have a deeper understanding of China.

In summary, as one of China's national treasures, Peking Opera has important artistic value and cultural significance. It conveys the cultural genes and traditional values of the Chinese nation to us, while also providing a window for people around the world to understand Chinese culture.

Time has passed, and now I am a college student. Although there is a lot of academic pressure, I still find time to appreciate Beijing Opera and feel the charm from ancient culture. Every time I see the actors on stage, I think of the childhood encounter and the twinkling light in my father's eyes.

Peking Opera is not only a performing art, but also a philosophy of life and a cultural inheritance. This is the story of me and Peking Opera, the encounter and inheritance between an ordinary person and the traditional Chinese culture.

The Dragon Boat Festival is a festival with a long history.I always have a happy time on this festival. As time goes by,I always recall the happy moments of the Dragon Boat Festival when I was a child.

One morning, I woke up and found that I had a colorful rope on my hand. I was very confused about this.To solve my inner confusion,I shouted loudly, "Mom, what's on my hand?"My mother walked up to my bed and gently said to me, "Today is the Dragon Boat Festival, and the five colored silk thread is worn in your hand."After listening to mother's words, I suddenly remembered that today is the Dragon Boat Festival.I carefully examined the five colored silk thread on my hand and couldn't understand why I wore it during the Dragon Boat Festival, so I asked my mother again, "Mom, why do I wear five colored silk thread on this festival?"Mother gently caressed my head and said with a smile, "The five colored silk thread includes five colors: red, yellow, blue, green, and white. These five colors all have their own meanings. Red represents joy and enthusiasm, yellow represents wealth and auspiciousness, blue represents freshness and elegance, green represents life and health, and white represents purity and immaturity."After listening to her words, I finally understood that this small five colored silk thread contained so many good wishes,I must cherish it well.

After getting up, I found that the table was full of rice dumplings, and the scene of dragon boat racing was on the TV.The whole room was filled with festive atmosphere. At the same time, I also found wormwood hanging at the doorstep, which is a medicinal herb that can treat diseases. My mother told me that hanging wormwood during the Dragon Boat Festival can drive away diseases, prevent mosquitoes, and ward off evil spirits. After listening to her words,I realized that wormwood has such great benefits.

It was only after the day that I realized that how unfamiliar I was with traditional Chinese culture.I only knew the surface level, but I don't know the deeper meaning.Every festival has been passed down to this day because of its rich cultural connotations. As descendants,we need to understand the deeper connotations of festival culture instead of the surface level.Only in this way can traditional cultural customs be better passed down.

I remember when I was in junior high school, I went to my aunt's home during the winter vacation. During dinner, I was tired from chewing, so I stopped to sigh, and then held my cheek with my hand. At that moment, my aunt quickly hit my arm with a chopstick. It is summer and I was wearing a short-sleeved shirt. It hurt so much that I couldn't speak. I looked at my aunt with resentment, but she just calmly withdrew her chopstick.  I suppressed the tears that were about to well up and asked in a choked voice,“ Why did you hit me?” My aunt spoke lightly,“ Do you know what mistake you've made?” Although I was very angry, I could only weakly refute due to the authority of my aunt,“I didn't make any mistakes. I was just eating...” Before I finished speaking, my aunt picked me up like a chick to the wall, making me stand straight against it. She said in a stern voice,“ You don't know? Haven't I told you not to sigh while eating and not to hold your face with your hand?” I was puzzled, because I didn't remember this. My aunt saw my expression and knew that I didn't remember. She laughed angrily, “Didn't I tell you last year, huh? You really don't have a long memory without being beaten!” With my aunt's reminder, I recalled a little. It was at a banquet last year, she had said this, but I was thinking about playing with my friends at that time, so I didn't remember it in my heart. But I still didn't understand why I couldn't do this, so I asked, “Why?” My aunt said, “This is an old rule left by our ancestors. Sighing while eating is considered unlucky, and the host will think you are dissatisfied with the food and disrespecting them. So don't sigh while eating, and you will lose your good fortune if you often sigh.” I silently remembered it in my heart, and asked curiously, “Then why can't I hold my face with my hand?” My aunt continued,“Because holding your face with your hand is rude and makes people think you don't respect them. Do you understand?” I nodded, wiping away my tears. “Is there another time?” My aunt touched my head and asked. “No, no more. I will always remember it in my heart.” I firmly replied.
Since then, I have kept this rule in my heart and never made the same mistake again. I also learned more traditional customs from my aunt, some of which are serious and some are interesting, which makes me couldn't help but admire the vast and profound heritage of Chinese culture.

The Spring Festival is just around the corner.During this time,it is a tradition that elders give red envelopes to younger generations to show their blessings to them. When I was a child,it's excited for me to receive these .Once, when I took the red envelope from the hands of my elder.I couldn't wait to open it,However,my mother stopped me. She whispered to me patiently,Don't open the red envelope in front of the elder,it's so rude and disrespectful. After receiving my mother's instruction,I was unwilling to stop my hands from opening the red envelope and asked puzzledly, why I should do that? But my mother didn't respond to me. Instead,my mother urged me to thank.Although I was confused, I instantly say thanks with a big smile. After that,I asked her about that thing. My mother explained to me that it's impolite to open the red envelope in front of the elders. And the correct way is expressing your thanks and putting the red envelope in your pocket.I have learned the special manner from that incident and it would be a rule I should follow in the Spring Festival.
The traditional customs exist in every aspect of life. However, nowadays,we often neglect these hidden customs. This cause the treasure gradually fade away and people forget it little by little. Therefore,we should knew more about these traditional culture and let it continuously inherit and carry forward.

Every New Year’s Eve,no matter how howling the wind is or how freezing the day is,our family will gather together to celebrate the festival. We will usually make a big dinner, send red pockets to each other, watch New Year’s Eve gala and so on...Those activities are very fabulous and terrific, with our laughter lingering in the warm house, but what impresses me most is a special behaviour my mother requires me to do every time.
Since I was a little girl,I was generally asked to take a thorough bath and go to bed without turning off the lights after the wonderful party.I was a person who is accustomed to sleeping in the darkness, so I felt totally strange and uncomfortable to sleep with the lights but I still chose to follow my mother’s words every time.Last year, however, with my curiosity growing year by year, I was extremely longing for figuring out why I need to open the lights the whole night,so after my mother gave my a night kiss on my forehead,I inquiringly asked”Why we always need to leave the lights on all night?” Chuckling and gently patting on my head,my mom said”This is a hidden tradition passed down from our ancestors.Turning on the lights the whole night means we can gain brightness and hope in the coming year. ””Then why a thorough bath?”I twinkled my eyes.”A thorough bath can not only symbolize’saying goodbye to the old things, welcoming the new things’,but also help you have a good rest in order to greet the new year! They are both good wishes my dear!”At that moment,i suddenly understood everything, and along with the sweet truths,I had the best sleep I've ever had with the lights open.
From this lovely experience I greatly realize how rich and colorful our Chinese culture is and some traditions are really worth carrying on! I hope I can explore more hidden treasure behind our extensive and profound Chinese culture!

Some time ago, when winter was coming, I swiped a video on Tik Tok, the copy was "Winter Four-Piece Set", and attached a picture, including today's protagonist Rock Sugar Gourd. The rock sugar gourd on the picture, just looking at it, is very tempting. One Wednesday afternoon,I went shopping with my roommate.Passing by a snack shop, I stumbled upon a glimpse of sugar gourds lying neatly in the freezer.I had a craving for it.I grabbed my roommate and coquettishly said, "I want to eat rock sugar gourd"." let's go in and buy it".She said. Then, I got the rock sugar gourd that I had been longing for.
Sugar gourd is always a favorite food for me."Selling sugar gourds, fresh and delicious sugar gourds".Hawkers pushed tinkling carts and walked on narrow dirty roads. The children heard the familiar voices and rushed to them. That posture, it seemed that they can't wait for a moment."I want a sugar gourd." ,"I want it too, I want it too." The children scrambled to make the already narrow path even narrower .Hhawkers patiently coaxed "Don't worry, everyone has,all have". When I was a child, I went to a temple fair or shopping with my grandparents, and I would always shout to buy a bunch of red rock sugar gourds on the side of the road.My grandparents would always hold a string of sugar gourds and smile at me, "You're like a little gluttonous cat.",petting my head dotingly. The rock sugar groud has a bright red appearance and a mouth-watering sweet and sour taste. The snowy cold snow and the red sugar gourd seem to be the most vivid contrast left to people in winter.
When I returned to my dorm on Wednesday, I ate rock sugar gourds and couldn't help but think of the copy, why is rock sugar gourds one of the four-piece sets in winter?I picked up my phone and started searching the internet.Searching the Internet, I learned a lot about its past and present lives.
It is said that more than 800 years ago, the concubine beloved by the Southern Song Emperor Song Guangzong suffered from a disease, and even though the imperial doctors tried their best, they were still helpless. The concubine was getting haggard day by day, and Song Guangzong was very anxious. So, he decided to send a message to the people to find a good doctor to help his concubine.Hearing the news, a quack doctor was a little compassionate, so he asked to enter the palace to meet him. The quack doctor boiled rock sugar and hawthorn fruit together, and ate a few pieces for the concubine every day. Soon after, the concubine got better.Song Guangzong was naturally overjoyed and unfolded his worried eyebrows.Later, the method of boiling rock sugar and hawthorn fruit together spread to the people, and the common people skewered the hawthorn fruit and dipped it in boiled syrup in order to facilitate carrying and tasting, and in this way, the rock sugar gourd was born! Since then, people have begun to see rock sugar gourd stalls on the streets, just like the "Internet celebrity" delicacy on the Internet today.
It is recorded in the "Chronicles of the Yanjing Years" that the rock sugar gourd is made of bamboo skewers, hawthorn, begonia fruit, bean paste, etc. dipped in rock sugar, sweet, crisp and cold. Rock sugar gourd has the functions of appetizing, nourishing beauty, increasing intelligence, eliminating fatigue, and clearing heat.I’m surprised that little rock sugar gourd can do this!
Now, there are many kinds of rock sugar gourds, some with fruits, and some with glutinous rice, purple sweet potato puree, and so on. But I still feel that the hawthorn retains the original taste.
The gourd shape of the rock sugar gourd, homophonic is "Fu Lu", meaning auspiciousness and happiness. When we see strings of ice-sugar gourds, we associate them not only with red-hotness, reunion and sweetness, but also symbolizes the tightly knit stringing together of these beautiful elements to bring us a taste of joy and happiness. In a way: it may even represent a certain kind of simple and peaceful, yet not too historical, city life.
A string of ordinary sugar gourd, like a paragraph of ordinary but fireworks life.Just, really hope that our life can be more sweet than rock sugar gourd, less sour.

In one winter, with the cold wind and heavy snowflakes outside, our family gathered together to make dumplings, I asked curiously, “Why do we want to eat dumplings today? ” Grandma pinched my face, smiled kindly, and said, “Because today is the Winter Solstice .” "Do we have to eat dumplings during the Winter Solstice? ”I shook my head and still didn't understand. At this time, my mother smiled and said gently, “Because eating dumplings will not freeze our ears.” “Oh, so I see.” I nodded thoughtfully.

So all along, I have always thought that eating dumplings during the Winter Solstice is a matter of course. When I went to college, on the day of the Winter Solstice, a roommate from the south said, “Today's the Winter Solstice, let's go to eat dumplings.” “Aren't you eating dumplings?”I was puzzled. And then we started talking.

After some communication and searching some information on the Internet, we learned that there are many differences in culture and customs between the north and the south. On the Winter Solstice, people in the South eat tangyuan, which symbolizes reunion. Folk has a “eat dumplings a year old ”proverb. Northern people eat dumplings, meaning “warmth against the cold weather ”, so far the folk still spread the “Winter Solstice dumplings bowl, frozen ears no one care”. In addition, some areas do not eat dumplings, nor eat dumplings, they drink mutton soup. However, whether it is tangyuan or dumplings, they all carry beautiful meanings.

I think the Winter Solstice is a cultural treasure hidden in the cold. Because the name “Winter Solstice” is full of philosophy. The name of the Winter Solstice means that winter comes to the extreme, and “solstice” has the ultimate meaning. Therefore, the Winter Solstice is not only a meteorological sign but also a solar term full of philosophical meaning, implying the transition and change after the development of things to the extreme.

Chinese culture is extensive and profound, as long as we seek for carefully, we will find that there are many hidden cultures around us. When facing cultural and customs differences, we should also learn to understand and respect.

There are all kinds of dishes on the table at parties. One of the dishes that comes up at every party is duck eggs. When I was young, I was not sensible, and I always took a seat before adults, and I must be closest to the dishes I like to eat. Once I was running slowly, so I picked a random seat. In front of this seat lay duck eggs. When the adults told me that I couldn't sit here, I was confused. Later they told me that the duck eggs were placed in a very special position, only older people or higher status can sit. Only later did I realize that the location of the meal also reflects the breadth and depth of Chinese culture.

The Dragoon Boat Festival is one of the traditional Chinese festivals. On this day, some places have to eat “five reds”. One of the “reds” is red spinach, which is also a dish I didn't like to eat when I was a child.

When I was a child, I once celebrated the Dragon Boat Festival. On that day, there was no doubt that the red spinach was on the table again. I frowned as soon as I saw it. Although I didn't like to eat it, I had to eat a little because it is one of the “five reds”.My mother picked up a little red spinach in my bowl and said, “Today was Dragon Boat Festival, we must eat some red spinach.” “But I didn’t want to eat it.” I put the red spinach back in my mother’s bowl. Finally, under the strong persuasion of my parents, I ate a little with a frown. After eating, I asked them why the Dragon Boat Festival must eat the red spinach.“Because eating the red spinach at the Dragon Boat Festival is to take its vitality. It can clear heat and detoxify, remove dampness, and stop dysentery.” Dad replied. In addition,I also learned that the other "four reds"are different depending on the region. For example,in Taizhou ,Jiangsu Province, people eat braised pork, braised yellow croaker, onion and eel and shrimp during the Dragon Boat Festival.

From then on,I will eat many red spinach every Dragon Boat Festival.

Winter Solstice is a traditional solar term of China.Every year people celebrate it with their families. They have a big dinner and eat glutinous rice balls together. This year, after a heavy snow,Winter Solstice came. When I was having my dinner,my grandmother sent me a voice message, “Have you eat glutinous rice balls today, dear?”It dawned on me that today I should have glutinous rice balls. But obviously,I had forgotten it.

Glutinous rice balls,it is also called “tangyuan” in Chinese.Since I was a little child, my grandmother has cooked glutinous rice balls for our family on the Winter Solstice. When I was in primary school, many of my classmates said that we should eat dumplings instead of glutinous rice balls. At that time,I was really curious about why we had different opinions and why our family ate glutinous rice balls. So I asked my grandmother, “why do we always eat glutinous rice balls? Why don’t we eat dumplings or other food?”At the moment,my grandmother stopped washing vegetables and gently said to me, “Just imagine the shape of the rice balls. It looks like a roundness, right? It is a symbol of family reunion and perfection. If we eat glutinous rice balls, our family will be more happy next year.”In my grandmother’s words, the Chinese character “yuan” in the phrase “tangyuan” means reunion. From then on, I always remembered the beautiful meaning of glutinous rice balls and ate them on the Winter Solstice every year.

Now, another winter solstice has arrived.I was not with my family and didn’t eat Glutinous rice balls either. But the message from my grandmother made me feel like my family and I have never been separated.

I liked playing with my friends in front of my house.Once, I was playing so happy that I forgot that the costoms my mother had taught me  .When I went home for lunch ,I stepped on the threshold.Thought it was so funny .I jumped on it.After playing a few,I entered in.At that time, my mother looked at me but did not scold me immediately."Hurry down",she only said.I looked into her eyes and thought something what I had done was wrong. So I hurrily jumped off the threshold. After the meal, my mother asked me to sit down and had a chat with me.With a serious voice, she said ,"Stepping on the threshold was an act of disrespect to the ancestors. It is a village custom to be observed."I nodded my head but I was confused and I didn't ask the reason at that moment.I thought it was a superstitious and unscientific costom.

Later, when I had a certain amount of scientific knowledge, I found that the seemingly unreasonable customs were actually protecting our lives.I learned that the threshold, as part of the house, holds the house in place.Often stepping on the threshold will lead to an imbalance in the house and cause great harm to the stability of the house. Our ancestors wanted to protect our lives with this custom.Perhaps in their time there was no scientific explanation for the shorter life span of houses that were frequently stepped on threshold. But he wants his children to be safe.So there is this custom. So we have to respect the traditional customs, of course, the customs that deserve to be respected.

We need to understand the customs and really understand what they mean. We can't be self-righteous. Understanding customs can not only protect fine traditional culture, sometimes respecting customs is also protecting our own life!

Time flies, and December is coming to an end. It didnt take long for the smell of the New Year in the air to get heavier and heavier with the sound of firecrackers. My mind was pulled back to where I had been. Kid, go get the paste.” The father stood on a ladder with the couplets in his hands. I excitedly handed over the paste, and my father skillfully smeared it on the back of the couplets and pasted them on the door frame. The day passed unconsciously in the busyness, and my hands were dyed red by the Spring Festival couplets, but I never tired of it. My childhood impression of the Spring Festival is nothing more than the pungent smell of firecrackers in the air, the delicious food on the table full of delicacies on the night of Chinese New Year’s Eve, and the red envelopes and sweets under the pillow.

As the night falls, the busy day is about to say goodbye. The child’s energy was always so strong that I was not sleepy in the middle of the night, but I had to climb into bed at my mother’s repeated urgings reluctantly. I fell asleep in a daze as my mother comforted me again and again, and vaguely felt a hand reach under my pillow, and then a kiss fell gently on my forehead.

I woke up to the sound of firecrackers in the morning, and when I opened my eyes again, I found a few more candies on the pillow and a bulging red envelope under the pillow. I remembered my mothers instructions to wake up and eat a candy first. After careful selection, I finally stuffed the strawberry-flavored candy into my mouth and couldnt wait to run to my parents to send my blessings.

Ive always been curious about this. So one warm afternoon, I asked my grandmother about the origin of the custom. Grandma narrowed her eyes and said meaningfully, Legend has it that in ancient times, there was a little demon named sui who specially haunted the night of the Chinese New Years Eve, and liked to touch the childs head with his hand, and the child who was touched would become demented. But this monster was scared away by the light emitted by the copper coin, so in ancient times, people would put a few copper coins next to the childs pillow, and secretly help the child to scare away the sui, so it was called pressure money, and because sui is homophonic with year, the passage of time was called New Years money. As for those few pieces of candy, I want the child to say good things when his mouth becomes sweet after eating the candy. At that time, I nodded my head as if I didnt understand, but I thought it was very interesting.

Now that I have grown up and become sensible, I understand that the little red envelope is not only stuffed with New Years money but also my familys good wishes and expectations for me. The way Chinese express love is always subtle, but it never lacks a sense of ritual. Just as our national spirit is deep and powerful, it is embedded in every national culture and rooted in the hearts of each of us. Although the taste of the year is fading, the blessings of my family and the sugar in my mouth have long been a seed buried in my heart, and after careful watering, it has now taken root and will eventually bear abundant fruits. The treasures of national culture always make me sigh and bend my waist for them, and I am willing to spend my life feeling and inheriting them.

On Ghost Day, our family will worship our ancestors. Our family will cook a large table of meals every time, and we will prepare a lot of paper money. When I first experienced ancestor worship as a child, I asked my grandmother what is the significance of this activity? My grandmother gently replied that this is an ancient Chinese culture, reflecting on the noble character of Chinese filial piety. At that time, I was too young to fully understand what my grandmother said. The rice on the ancestor table is very cultured, you need to slowly turn the rice into a bowl until it becomes a ball.In addition, two candles should be placed in front of the table. In the process of ancestors worship, family members need to express their respect for their ancestors and their own wishes in turn.Until the candle burns out, we will take the paper money downstairs to burn, in the process of burning paper money, the mouth is still quietly read to the respect for ancestors and their own wishes. When you get home, you need to pour the rice back into the rice cooker and mash it before it can be eaten. This is the whole process of my ancestors worship.Every time I worship my ancestors, my grandparents will teach me the knowledge of ancestor worship, hoping that I can pass on this traditional Chinese cultural activity.

Gradually I grew up, the study pressure is also heavy, all day I study and class so that I can not have the opportunity to participate in ancestor worship activities, I feel a pity.

With the development of The Times, more and more young people gradually ignore their ancestor worship activities, which is sad.In my opinion, it is necessary for young people to inherit traditional Chinese culture.Culture is the soul of the country.

It was a midsummer night, when I was a child, my family and I went to a family dinner, Chinese restaurants often serve some cold dishes first, I sat next to my mother, looking at the prawns and beef on the table, and couldn't help but move chopsticks. At this point, my mother interrupted me and said, You have grown up, son, it is time to teach you some table manners. Do not move chopsticks in advance before the elders have moved chopsticks, this is the most basic etiquette... Mother had not finished speaking, uncle said: the child is still young, hungry eat first, there is no problem. I listened to my uncle and continued to enjoy my food. After returning home, my mother told me about table manners seriously. From then on, I knew that table manners are the embodiment of the excellent traditional values of Chinese people, which contains the spirit of respecting elders.
