What kind of evidence supports the idea that language is culturally transmitted?

    If a Chinese baby born and brought up in Britain by an English family, he will speak English.  a wolf  child cannot speak human language because he doesn't contact with human culture.

    There are much evidence supporting it. For example, a human being brought up in isolation simply does not acquire language, as is demonstrated by the studies of children brought up by animals without human contact. Also, what language a baby is going to speak is determined by the culture he is born into. A Chinese speaker and an English speaker are not mutually intelligible despite that they are both able to use a language.

    @张睿 yes, In fact cultural transmission is in contrast with genetic inheritance, which is a characteristic of animal communicative systems.
