In the quiz of Unit 2,there is a sentence "Now retailers are getting larger, consumer prices are getting higher, and popular books are receiving more attention."Why is it wrong?What do consumer prices refer to?

    The statement is wrong because one of the clauses--"consumer prices are getting higher"--is wrong. The correct sentence should be "consumer prices are getting lower". Here, consumer prices just refer to the price we as consumers pay for commodities (in this case, books). As book publishers and sellers grow bigger, they could achieve economies of scale, and therefore reducing the production cost as well as the retail price.
