intestine,bowel在使用上有什么区别吗

By h 2019-12-18 378次浏览

请问intestine,bowel有什么区别吗?

前者好像大多数指小肠,后者好像大多数指结肠,可是在翻译一些词语的时候又会出现混用的情况。

比如:

肠息肉是Intestinal polyps

肠肌肉是bowel muscle

所以对这两个词的翻译有点混淆

    intestine表示胃末端至肛门消化道的肠整体结构,所以可以加small和large表示小肠和大肠

    而bowel有时特指肠的一部分,在解剖的翻译上特指大肠

bowel:"human organs of the abdomianal cavity",is from Medieval Latin botellus "small intestine," originally "sausage,"

    两者都有肠的意思,intestine可以在前面加large或small表示所指。bowel则一般不这么用

Bowel is a synonym of intestine.
As nouns the difference between boweland intestine is that bowel is (chiefly|medicine) a part or division of the intestines, usually the large intestine while intestine is (anatomy|often pluralized) the alimentary canal of an animal through which food passes after having passed all stomachs.
As a verb bowel is to disembowel.
As a adjective intestine is domestic; taking place within a given country or region.
