define beastly?

By 周望千 2019-06-13 1859次浏览 课时40

I am in puzzle in terms of the part which says that this story encourages women to civilize their beastly behaved husbands. I think it is a bit self-contradictory, seeing that in the beauty and the beast the prince does not act beastly but only looks like a beast, as in the last video this is specially pointed out to contrast other stories. If that is the case, would not it be unfair if you accuse it of that crime? Why defining beastly as rough and violent in conducts when the particular story includes no such implications? Why is it ignored by the feminists that it may positively help stop making appearance a criterium for women to choose a groom, now that women are not the only species in the world that suffers objectification?

I did not say that "Beauty and the Beast" encourages women to civilize their beastly husbands. I said that many other stories that have a similar theme intend to do that, for example, Disney's version of the story, and "The Pig Prince" of course.
